After Sambalpur, major Political Parties in Jharsuguda District joins together to boycott Municipal Polls

Jharsuguda: A Day after the boycott of municipal polls by all major political parties in Sambalpur. Political parties in Jharsuguda district have decided to boycott the urban polls and extend their support to lawyers who are demanding for establishment of a high court bench in western Odisha since long.
The lawyers of Jharsuguda District called in all-party meeting on the bar premises on Sunday evening to appeal the parties for extending their support the strike call given by lawyers from August 20 to 27. At the meeting, district presidents and leaders of all major parties were present.
“We extend our support to the lawyers and would stand with them together for this demand.” Said by BJD Leader Sandeep Awasthy
“For the benefits of people of Jharsuguda and Western Odisha, we have specified that congress will support bar association’s appeal,” said by Bhawani Shankar Pati, Vice President, Jharsuguda Dist. Congress committee.
Pramod Senapati, BJP Dist. President “It was one of the long awaited demand by BJP and now with the consensus of all parties, we too have decided to boycott the nomination process which is scheduled to be Aug 20 to 24th of this month.
“All major political parties in Jharsuguda have specifically agreed to support the decision of bar association and will not file nomination between Aug 20 to 24.”President of Jharsuguda district bar association Dinesh Kumar Jain told the media. He also added that, he would also request the Independent Candidates not to file the nomination.
He informed that district president of the BJP, the Congress and the Samajvadi Party, BJP Pramod Senapati, Kishal Lal Sultania and Mohd. Akhtar respectively, leader of CPI Anit Chakraborty, BJD Brajrajnagar Town President, Biswanth Nayak, and other small political parties were present at the meeting.
