“Chhota Sa Prayas for Nepal” Campaign Showcases Humanity and Compassion of OMP and Jharsuguda Residents

Jharsuguda: The devastating floods that occurred in Nepal on August 26 left the lives of many families shattered. Numerous families lost their homes, property and livelihoods. Witnessing the severity of the disaster and the suffering of the people of Nepal, some friends from OMP initiated a small effort to extend support.
With the support of OMP Sepoy Union President Ramkrishna Chetry and Vice-President Navin Pradhan, the campaign titled “Chhota Sa Prayas for Nepal” was launched. The objective was simple—to do whatever possible, within their means, for the people affected by the disaster in Nepal.
It is said that even a small effort made with a sincere heart can gradually turn into a great success. Similarly, the message of this campaign slowly reached various communities, organisations and clubs within OMP. Later, as the message spread across Jharsuguda city, people from different sections of society voluntarily began contributing according to their individual capacities.
Thus, what began as a small effort gradually brought the entire Jharsuguda community together.
As part of the campaign, a large tribute meeting was also organised on September 7, which received an overwhelming response. With everyone’s cooperation, love and humanitarian spirit, a total of ₹35,94,789 was collected through the campaign.
The collected amount was deposited into the Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund on September 9, 2026, from the savings account of OMP Sepoy Union President Ramkrishna Chetry, through the State Bank of India, Jharsuguda Main Road Branch.
We understand that this amount may not be very large. However, the thought, emotion, unity and support behind this contribution are certainly invaluable. We firmly believe that this small effort will bring new hope, courage and confidence to the disaster-affected families and every individual suffering in Nepal.
Along with this, our entire team is publicly releasing a list of the names of all those who supported this noble campaign, either directly or indirectly. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters, donors, organisations, clubs and residents of Jharsuguda.
This initiative will also convey a meaningful message to future generations—that whether it is a neighbouring country or a neighbouring family, whenever someone is going through suffering and hardship, it is our responsibility to extend a helping hand and stand by them.
We express our heartfelt thanks to every resident of Jharsuguda who stood with us in this noble cause, as well as to all our media fraternity. Your cooperation and support have made this campaign even stronger.
“Chhota Sa Prayas for Nepal” – A Small Effort, A Great Act of Humanity.
