Five Masked Robbers Tie up Husband-Wife, Loot ₹7 Lakh and 15 Tolas of Gold in Talmunda under Laikera Police Station

Jharsuguda: In a daring overnight robbery at the Laikera Police Station area in Talmunda, a husband and wife were tied up by five armed robbers who looted over ₹7 lakh in cash and 15 sovereigns of gold jewelry.
According to reports, Prakash Nayak and his wife Jhili Nayak were sleeping at their home around 1:00 a.m. when the masked intruders broke in. The gang tied the couple’s hands and feet, threatened them with swords and guns, and stole cash, the gold jewelry they were wearing, and gold ornaments kept in the almirah.
During the attack, Prakash Nayak sustained injuries on both shoulders, and the robbers also smashed the couple’s mobile phones. The entire robbery was carried out within 20 minutes before the gang fled the scene.
Jharsuguda SP Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, SDPO Umashankar Singh, and Laikera Police Station Officer-in-Charge Krishnachandra Meher, along with a forensic team, immediately reached the site and launched an investigation.
