Jharsuguda: The Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Green, in association with Jharsuguda Police, organised a Digital Literacy and Cyber Awareness Programme for adults and senior citizens at Hotel Mohini Royale, Jharsuguda.
The programme was attended by more than 200 participants, with significant participation from senior citizens and women.
Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Chief Speaker and delivered an informative session titled “Cyber Safety for Everyone – Senior Citizens • Youth • Public.”
Focusing on everyday digital security, the SP highlighted three key areas: Safe WhatsApp, Safe UPI and Safe Digital Life. He sensitised participants about online frauds, suspicious links, OTP and UPI scams, impersonation and other common cyber threats.
Emphasising the importance of caution while using digital platforms, he shared the simple message:
“Think Before You Click. Verify Before You Pay.”
The interactive session was particularly appreciated by senior citizens and women, who actively participated and raised questions about digital safety and cyber fraud prevention.
Naresh Sarawgi, President, Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Green, expressed gratitude to the Jharsuguda Police and SP Sir for their valuable support. Mohan Murarka, Secretary; Manoj sharma, along with other Rotary members and volunteers, were present at the programme.
The initiative reaffirmed Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Green’s commitment towards community awareness, digital empowerment and a safer society.
