Government Committed to All-Round Development of Jharsuguda District: Minister Suresh Pujari Cardiology Hospital to Become Operational from January 2026 New Irrigation Project to Begin in Brajrajnagar Constituency

Jharsuguda: A high-level review meeting chaired by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari was held to evaluate various developmental initiatives in Jharsuguda district, especially within the Brajrajnagar assembly constituency. The Minister emphasized that the State Government is committed to the all-round development of Jharsuguda and directed that all projects be completed within their stipulated timelines while ensuring quality standards.
One of the key announcements made during the meeting was the full-scale operationalization of the Jharsuguda Cardiology Hospital by January 2026. Discussions were also held regarding the proposed medical college by the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Foundation, which is expected to significantly boost the region’s healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, steps to upgrade the District Headquarters Hospital and fill vacant medical positions were prioritised.
The Minister revealed that an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) will soon be established in Lakhanpur, and construction work for a railway overbridge at Belpahar will commence shortly. Road development works will also begin from Kumarbandh–Tempuripada in Jharsuguda to Rengali via Rampela in Sambalpur, focusing on strengthening and widening the route.
Further, the construction of a connectivity bridge from Pujharipali in Lakhanpur block to Jarimuli in Ambabhona block of Bargarh district was reviewed. Authorities have been instructed to complete this critical infrastructure within a fixed timeframe. Accelerated development of a coal corridor from MCL mining area to Mahima Chowk in Belpahar was also decided.
Post-monsoon damage and reconstruction of flood-affected areas in the district were discussed as a priority. In Brajrajnagar constituency, new irrigation projects are set to be launched, alongside the construction of a ring road and embankment along the IB River under the jurisdiction of Brajrajnagar Municipality.
Minister Pujari reiterated that the government is determined to ensure timely completion of all developmental works in the district. “Quality and efficiency are at the core of every initiative. These projects will directly benefit the people of Jharsuguda,” he said.
The review meeting was attended by Jharsuguda MLA Shri Tankadhar Tripathy, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Works Department Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Health Department Secretary S. Ashwathi, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Commissioner Shri Girish S.N., Rural Development Secretary Smt. Yamini Sarangi, Director of Lift Irrigation Sudhadeb Singh, Jharsuguda Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, and Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department Shri Chandrasekhar Padhi, among other senior officials.
