IB Thermal,�27-06-2018:�Odisha�Power Generation Corporation Ltd organized a three days long�awareness campaign on Lightning Safety in collaboration with Odisha State Disaster Mitigation Authority�(OSDMA)�and�Jharsuguda�District Emergency Cell.�An expert team of�Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force(ODRAF) from �OSAP 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda came to work with OPGC CSR team to spread awareness in periphery villages of IB Thermal Power Station at Banharpali. The campaign started on 25th�June at Panchayat office of Telenpali and Dalgaon. On 26th�public awareness events were held in Remenda and Kushuraloi panchayats. The campaign concluded today with events at Kumarbandh and Tilia panchayats with large participation from villagers and school children. The campaign was inaugurated by Head (CSR & Sustainability) of OPGC Dr Manoj Kumar Dash. A team of ODRAF sensitized the villagers on the basic safety measures to be adopted to stay safe during lightning strikes. Posters specially made for lightning safety awareness were distributed among villagers to spread the word on a mass scale. Members of ODRAF also explained the common public and school children on basic first aid techniques for cases of snake bite, bleeding and drowning. Manager (CSR) Mr Pratap Moharana conducted the events with support from OPGC CSR team members. Jharsuguda district administration, Sarpanch of each panchayat and volunteers also provided their much-needed support.
