Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda District Police has made comprehensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful, safe and incident-free celebrations of Durga Puja 2026 across the district. This year, a total of 82 Durga Puja pandals will be set up across the district. Adequate police personnel will be deployed at major Puja pandals, crowded locations, sensitive areas and important junctions. Special emphasis will be placed on maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety and preventing any untoward incidents during the festive celebrations.
Special arrangements are being made for traffic regulation, crowd management, women’s safety and peaceful immersion processions. Intensive foot patrolling, mobile patrolling and surveillance will be undertaken throughout the festival. Additional attention will be given to major Ravan Podi venues, cultural programmes and areas witnessing large public gatherings. Strict action will be taken against drunken driving, rash driving, eve-teasing, antisocial activities and any attempt to disturb communal harmony. Close coordination is being maintained with Puja committees, local administration and other stakeholders to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations.
SP Jharsuguda has appealed to all citizens to celebrate Durga Puja with devotion, peace, harmony and responsibility. Puja committees have been advised to ensure proper safety arrangements, crowd regulation and cooperation with police personnel. The public is requested to follow traffic advisories, avoid spreading rumours and immediately report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or emergency helpline 112.
