Discussion on Union Budget 2025-26 Held at Laxminarayan College, Jharsuguda.

Jharsuguda: A discussion on the Union Budget 2025-26 was organized at Laxminarayan College, Jharsuguda, under the coordination of Lecturer Swagatika Barik. The event provided an insightful analysis of the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.
Professor Tapan Kumar Barik, Head of the Department of Economics, led the discussion, explaining the key objectives and implications of the budget. Several students actively participated, presenting their views on various budgetary aspects. Jyoti Patel discussed income tax, Pooja Singh analyzed defense expenditure, and Parthi Sharma examined healthcare allocations. Prashant Ekka and Nayan Sharma explored commerce and industry, while Lopamudra Pani focused on agricultural development. Aditya Pal highlighted the budget’s impact on education and the stock market, Ayush Sahu spoke on MSMEs, and Kunal Sharma, Nigaar Begum, and Geetanjali Jena provided insights into the agricultural sector.
Faculty members, including Devi Prasad Behera, Lecturer Shriya Lakshmi Panda, Professor Himanshu Sekhar Mahakud, Professor Arun Keshari, and Professor Sheikh Azhar Iqbal, engaged in an interactive session, addressing students’ queries.
The discussion concluded with a vote of thanks by first-year student Abhinav Saraogi. The event successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the Union Budget and its impact on various sectors.
