OPGC conducts orientation and counselling meeting for youth on vocational training under CSR
IB Thermal : Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC) today organized a comprehensive orientation and counseling meeting for youth focused on vocational training. The meeting was aimed at identifying and assessing the needs & preferences of unemployed youth aged between 18 to 30 years residing in the periphery villages of IB Thermal Power Station. The meeting started at 10:30 AM at the Tilia Gram Panchayat Office and went on till 12:30 PM. Senior Manager (Corp.Comm. & CSR) Himansu Bhusan Behera chaired the meeting in the presence of Tilia Grampanchayt Sarpanch Puspanjali Pradhan, along with OPGC CSR team Rajendra Sa, Ramiyan Chatria and Biren Bishi.
About 90 unemployed youth, comprising 61 girls and 28 boys from villages Kantatikra, Phatapali, Singhaipali, Badsarua, Nuapada, Mundapada, Gadgadbahal, Koltikra & Tilia coming under Tilia gram panchayat attended the meeting. During the meeting, the youth actively engaged in the process of orientation on various trades of vocational training then a detailed questionnaire was filled out by the youth that gauged their interests and willingness to pursue vocational training.
The valuable insights obtained from these forms shall help the OPGC CSR team to design vocational training programs on various trades. OPGC looks forward to witnessing the positive impact of these initiatives as the participants embark on their chosen vocational training paths, contributing to both personal growth and community development. OPGC also plans to conduct such counseling sessions in other panchayats in the periphery of IB Thermal plant site in the near future.
