Jharsuguda SP Smit P. Parmar said, “A total of 238 mobile phones were recovered from various police stations across Jharsuguda district. Among them, the majority belonged to residents of our district, while some were from other districts and states. The rightful owners also participated in the event via video conferencing. We have collected their residential addresses, and the recovered phones will be sent back through courier services.
These recoveries were made by our Cyber Cell and police stations based on complaints received over the past one year. Using IMEI tracking and various other technical tools, we were able to trace and retrieve the devices. In the coming days, similar recovery drives will be conducted more frequently. We also urge the public to report lost mobile phones to us promptly so that we can expedite the recovery process.”
Anita Kerketta of Brundaban Colony said, “While travelling on my scooty with my daughter, my mobile phone accidentally dropped, and we were unable to find it. We later filed a complaint, and the police team guided me, and assured me that they would try to recover the phone. I would like to thank the Cyber Cell and the police team for their support and help. I never imagined I would get my phone back, but thanks to their efforts.”
