Jharsuguda DRDA shuts down for three days after DRDA officials tests Covid19 positive

Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has been shut down for three days after 22 employees of its office were tested covid positive on Friday.

Jharsuguda District Collector Saroj Kumar Samal Said, “One of the employees of DRDA resides at Vedanta Campus, which has turned into a Covid Cluster, Containment measurers are in the place to check the spread of the virus on the complex. We have closed the DRDA office for three days and those employees who have not been affected are been shifted to the Jharsuguda District collectorate office and are working from this office.”

“Additionally, Our District has been well connected with all the metros through Airport, Railways, we have daily trains from Kolkata, various labours are coming to the district from various places, mining activity is also going on, among all this, we are taking various measures to curb the covid cases in the district.

We are collecting all the travelling details of the passenger; from Thursday we have started collecting the swab of all the passengers coming from New Delhi and Kolkata passengers and from Friday onwards we are also started collecting all the passengers travelling details at Jharsuguda Railway Station. Subsequently, we have increased the enforcement in the district.”

Notably, Jharsuguda reported 106 cases in the last 24 hours while the total active cases in the district have mounted to 288.
