Seven Workers injured in a plant Mishap

Jharsuguda :  Seven workers, including two were seriously injured in a plant mishap occurred on Thursday morning after a molten metal splashed over them, injuring them seriously.

The mishap occurred at the Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons Ltd (TPSL) plant in Lahandabud area under BTM Police outpost, Jharsuguda

The workers were identified as Ganesh Singh (30), Ranjit Singh (32), Sumanta Majhi (24), Sahadev Patel (30) , Manbodh Mohanta (30) , Ravi Shankar Yadav (40) and Anand Sahu (45).

Jharsuguda Assistant Director Factory & Boiler Anil Kumar Nanda said,” There was some wear & tear inside the Induction Furnace where Molten metal processing was going on at the time of the incident, due to which some molten metal got splashed. Due to which workers working at that place got injured. At that time around nine workers were working. Two workers including the shift in-charge who was working at that time received 30-40% and have been shifted to IGH, Rourkela.  Another two workers were given first aid and were discharged from the District Head Quarter Hospital, while the other five workers have been getting treatment at Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital.   After the mishap, We have immediately ordered an enquiry into the incident and have also issued an order to the company to immediately stop any operation at that induction furnace.”
