Jharsuguda : In a tragic incident on Friday afternoon, two persons lost their lives in a head-on collision between a car and a moped on the Samasingha–Sodamal road under Kolabira police station limits in Jharsuguda district.
The deceased have been identified as Ravi Bhoi , a resident of Ludung village under Kolabira Block and rider of the moped, and Ganesh Jayapuria of Samasingha village under Kolabira Block. Both were travelling on a TVS moped bearing registration number OD 15 M 8691, which was heading towards Samasingha from Sodamal when it collided with a car (OD 16 6868) coming from the opposite direction.
Following the accident, both victims were immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Jharsuguda, where they were declared dead.
Kolabira police have seized both the car and the moped and launched an investigation into the incident.
