Jharsuguda Lok Mahotsav kicks off
Jharsuguda�:�Jharsuguda�Lok�Mahotsav�began on Sunday with a lot of grandeur with thousands of people from across�Jharsuguda�and outside the district thronged Man Mohan M.E. School to witness the inaugural ceremony of 5 days cultural extravaganza of the district. Hundreds of local artists gathered here to display their skills at the five-day cultural extravaganza.
A cultural �Sobha Yatra� was held on Sunday afternoon from Jhadeswar Temple to the event ground.
�Every year, on the occasion of�Jharsuguda�district formation day celebration, this�Lok�Mahotsav�is being celebrated on January 1st.� The event focuses on promoting the local folk dance and culture of the area. This year around 1000 artists will take part on these 5 days, cultural programme belongs from within the district and outside district also. Even this year around 295 stalls of various handicrafts has been put up.�Said Tapas Ray Choudhary, member co-coordinating Committee, Dulduli
The Dist. Mahotsav, which is being organised for the past 15 years, aim to revive dying local art forms.
On inaugural day, �Dulduli Baja, Chhattisgarhi Dance, Mahari Dance, Horse Dance, Sambalpuri Dance and Pala were staged.
The�Mahotsav�was inaugurated by Jharsuguda�District Judge Gopal Chandra Pattnaik along with �Jharsuguda District Collector Bhibuti Bhusan Pattnaik, �Harish Ganatra, Chairman,�Jharsuguda�Municipality, Ram Chandra Pradhan �Executive Officer, along with many other dignitaries were present.
