Vedanta COO Abhijit Pati represents India in Indo-Japan Energy Conservation Dialogue held at Tokyo, Japan.
Jharsuguda: A 12 member contingent from India participated in the ‘Indo-Japan Workshop BPIN9’ on invitation of Government of Japan recently held at Energy Conservation Center, Tokyo, Japan. The 2 days dialogue included identifying purpose of possible projects for cooperation contributing to realizing the effective and efficient implementation and management of the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT Scheme) launched by government of India under NMEEE (National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency) Energy Intensive Industries to Benefit by Trading ESCerts (Energy Saving Certificates) Energy Saving of 6.6 million tonnes oil equivalent by 2014-15.
On his return, after representing India and only representative from Aluminium sector Mr. Abhijit Pati, President and COO Vedanta expressed his enthusiasm and shared that, the dialogue was very purposeful and Government of Japan has lauded India’s Initiative on PAT scheme to promote energy efficiency and conservation. He expressed such dialogue has immense potential for future which will help India shape its effort in this field with countries like Japan.
Other eminent representation came from Ministry of Power, Government of India, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Fertilizer Association of India, NITRA, and CPPRI.
