Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy Lays Foundation Stone For the construction of road from OMP to Bandharpada with estimated cost of 32 crore

Jharsuguda: A long-standing demand of the people of Jharsuguda was fulfilled today with the foundation stone laying ceremony for the road connecting OMP Square to Bandharapada Square. The ceremony was conducted by Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, who stated that this 32-crore project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe, and he directed the Works Department to ensure timely execution.
Speaking at a program near OMP, the MLA said that this road project was a major demand of the local residents, which is now being fulfilled under the current government. The road design has been prepared by the Central Road Research Institute of India, ensuring it can withstand heavy vehicle movement without damage. He added that the tendering process is already complete and work will begin shortly.
Tripathy extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan for approving the project and fulfilling the public’s demand. He assured that the road would be of high quality and completed on time.
Taking a dig at the previous government, the MLA said people had seen how roads used to collapse within days of being inaugurated. He emphasized the need for accountability from those who were previously in charge and questioned the quality of earlier constructions, stating that large sums were spent with little lasting outcome. He called for an investigation into past expenditures on road construction.
The event was attended by Jharsuguda Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane and senior officials from the Works Department.
