Odisha Boosts Law Officers� Salaries: 50% Hike in Fees

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has implemented a significant 50% hike in fees for law officers. This increase applies to both the daily and retainer fees for non-cadre law officers handling cases across various courts. The move is expected to benefit 1,215 law officers currently working in different court settings.

Under the revised fee structure:

  • Working Assistant Public Prosecutors (APPs), who were previously receiving Rs 1,250 per day, will now earn Rs 1,875.
  • The retainer fee for APPs has been raised from Rs 8,200 to Rs 12,300.
  • Assistant public prosecutors will now receive Rs 1,650 per day (up from the earlier Rs 1,100).
  • Their retainer fee has increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000.

Similarly:

  • Senior Public Prosecutors (SPPs) will now earn Rs 1,875 per day (previously Rs 1,250).
  • The retainer fee for SPPs has been raised to Rs 12,300 (from Rs 8,200).

Additionally:

  • Serving public prosecutors and assistant public prosecutors will also receive the enhanced retainer fee of Rs 12,300 (up from Rs 8,200).

This move aims to recognise the contributions of law officers and ensure their financial well-being.
