Jharsuguda : Ghanshyam Hemlata Vidya Mandir, Jharsuguda celebrated its ‘Annual Sports Meet-2024’ inaugurated by Jeevan Kumar Mohanty, Vice-president, District Hockey Association, Odisha. The event aimed at grooming the young athletes of the school in building as dazzling sports personalities in the international arena. In his opening remarks, the Chief Guest Mohanty emphasized on the ardent role to be played by both the parents and the teachers in incubating and fostering the young kids for shaping them as illustrious sportsmen in future. The principal of the school, Sanjukta Dash extended a warm welcome to all the Dignitaries and attendees, reassuring the sincere dedication of the school in enhancing the sports arena by inculcating the sports-enthusiasm in the minds of the young mass enabling them to establish themselves internationally with a spirit of true sportsmanship. The PTA Secretary Soubhagya Patel acknowledged the supreme contribution of parents and teachers in supplying their wards with every opportunity for a dynamic status in games and sports. Trinath Gual, a founder member of the school also focused on the importance of games and sports on a student’s life. The Welcome Dance, the Ganesh Vandana, the Pom-Pom Drill and the Karate Display by the students were some of the central foci of attention in the program.
A number of final events like the Relay races etc. were displayed. The Sports Champions in the Junior Group were Bijaya Rout of Class-VIII and Prachi Mahanandia of Class-VI while that of the Senior Group were Sudhir Bariha of Class-XII and Archita Rout of Class-IX for their brilliant performances in sports. Today’s event became a great success due to the active co-operations of Saroj Samant, PET, all the teachers and the staffs, the CCA Team (Sandhyarani Sahoo& Kamalesh Sahu) and all the students of the school under the superb guidance of the Principal, Sanjukta Dash Finally, prizes were distributed by the dignitaries including the Members of School Management to the winners of the different events. Shubhendu Kumar Meher, PGT Physics coordinated the program with Sobhan Sahu, PGT Economics delivering the Vote of Thanks. Thus, the event was a grand success.
