Jharsuguda: Reinforcing its commitment to maternal and child healthcare, the Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Green organised a Baby Kit Distribution Programme at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Jharsuguda, benefiting 42 newborn babies and their mothers.
The initiative was aimed at supporting new mothers by providing essential baby care kits immediately after childbirth. The kits contained carefully selected items to promote infant hygiene, comfort and basic newborn care during the crucial early days after delivery.
Apart from distributing the kits, Rotary members interacted with the mothers and their families, extending their best wishes and creating awareness about the importance of maintaining hygiene and adopting proper newborn care practices. The programme was well received by the beneficiaries and hospital staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Rotary Club of Jharsuguda Green President Rtn. Naresh Sarawgi said maternal and child care remains one of the club’s key service priorities, and such initiatives reflect Rotary’s commitment to supporting the community at every stage of life.
The programme was conducted in the presence of club office-bearers, including Secretary Rtn. Mohan Murarka and Treasurer Rtn. Manoj Sharma. Members who participated in the service activity included Rtn. Sajid Hussain, Rtn. Raj Hora, Rtn. Abdul Habib, Rtn. Harshit Modi, Rtn. Rajesh Agarwal, Rtn. Anjali Modi, Rtn. Reena Sarawgi, Rtn. Madhumita and Priyanka Khandelwal.
The club stated that it will continue organising community welfare initiatives focusing on healthcare, education and social development as part of its ongoing service activities in Jharsuguda.
