Jharsuguda: A car caught fire due to a short circuit while going from Jharsuguda Kumbharbandha to Sambalpur on Thursday. The incident took place at Jharmunda Ghati, under the Kumbhara outpost.
The car driver, Jyoti Bhusan, escaped unharmed. Local police and fire department teams rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
Bhusan told the police that he was driving the car when he suddenly noticed smoke coming out of the engine compartment. He immediately stopped the car and got out. Within a few minutes, the car was engulfed in flames.
According to the police, a short circuit in the car’s electrical wiring was the cause of the fire. The car was completely destroyed in the fire.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
