Jharsuguda : A Special Squad of Sambalpur Excise Department has seized large quantities of illegal duplicate foreign liquor and arrested two people from the Ganeshnagar area near Telenpali of the Brajrajnagar area.

Shiv Kumar Sanra and Saroj Kumar Sanra, two brothers, residents of Ganeshnagar under Brajranagar, who were making duplicate liquor were arrested and taken to court, while the father of the other accused fled away.

As per the report, a team of the Sambalpur Excise Department Special Squad on Saturday raided the Ganeshnagar area near Telenpalli in Brajrajnagar area this morning without informing the local authorities and seized around Two hundred bottles of King Gold, Royal Stag, as well as other bottles of wine were seized along with empty bottles, corks, counterfeit labels.

Excise inspector Smrutikanta Raut said “After getting reliable information, today we raided a house in Ganeshnagar of Brajrajnagar, in a house around 200 bottles of duplicate foreign liquor and 2277 pcs Cork, 2912 pcs labels sticker of various brands and bottles and seized ready to sell bottles. They sue to prepare this duplicate liquor manually by adding spirit, water and other items without any prescribed proportion which may be harmful to the people.”
