Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, conferred with “Corporate Recognition Award” at 2nd Annual National BBS Conference
Jharsuguda: On 19th January 2018, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda bagged the coveted �Corporate Recognition Award�for Implementation of Behaviour Based Safety (BBS)� at the 2nd Annual National BBS Conference held in Mumbai. Organized by the Forum of Behavioral Safety, this is a first of its kind award ceremony aimed at motivating and promoting safety oriented work-place behaviour incorporates. Mr VB Sant, Director General � National Safety Council, and Dr Avneesh Singh, Director General � Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes, graced the occasion as guests of honour. The event recognized behavioural safety initiatives of some of the biggest corporates in the country.
The BBS Award was in acknowledgement of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda�s dedicated efforts towards implementation of behaviour-based safety practices across our sites, the involvement of leadership to drive the safety culture, continuous monitoring and improvement of safe workplace behaviour, and commitment towards improving the organizational safety performance. Mr Ajay Gautam, GM � Cast House Maintenance and Mr Sujit Basa, AGM � Power Operations (CPP), received the award on behalf of Vedanta Ltd from Dr Avneesh Singh. The theme of this year�s National BBS Conference was �Best Experiences, Practices and Challenges of BBS Implementation in India�.
