Literature Conclave 3.0: A Celebration of Language, Culture, and Literary Excellence

Jharsuguda : The much-anticipated Literature Conclave 3.0 was held at DAV Public School, IB Valley Area, Brajrajnagar, under the thoughtful mentorship of Susanta Ku. Pradhan (Principal, DAV Public School, IB Valley Area). Organized by the school’s Language Department, this year’s conclave brought together a spectrum of literary experts, educators, and students to discuss and celebrate the impact of literature in today’s world.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Samir Ranjan Nayak, (Principal of Brajrajnagar College), who set the tone for the occasion with his insightful address on the evolving role of literature in shaping young minds and fostering critical thinking. Poonam Sinha, Teacher-in-charge of the event, who extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and participants.

The conclave featured a distinguished panel of experts, including:

  • Biswajit Khamari, Reader in English and retired Principal, who shared his valuable perspectives on English literature and education.
  • Shibapriya Mishra, Ex-Sahitya Akademi Member from Odisha, who spoke about the significance of regional literature in preserving cultural heritage.
  • Prakashi Soni, an eminent Hindi poet and Manager Personnel at LOCP MCL, Brajrajnagar, who contributed to the discussions on the role of poetry in modern society.

In addition, the event saw the participation of numerous teachers, including N.C. Sahoo, Smt. Nibedita Swain, Subrat Pujari, D.P. Gupta, Sumita Panda, Agrawal, Chandrakala Jaiswal Anju, Dinbadhu Khamari, and Munu Bhoi, all of whom contributed to the success of the event.

One of the highlights of the conclave was the vibrant student performances, which included a wide array of literary expressions:

  • Ruchika presented an English Poetry performance that captivated the audience with her emotive delivery.
  • Sai Suday Pujari enchanted the audience with a story that combined traditional themes with contemporary storytelling.
  • Swayamshree and Diksha performed an inspiring Doha (couplet).
  • A Dialogue (Samvaad) on the powerful topic “Beti Bojh Nahi Vardaan Hai” featured the voices of Ruchika, Chhoti Tanty, Akankshya, Manisha, and Bhavna Agrawal, exploring the social and cultural relevance of empowering girls in society.

The theme of this year’s conclave – The Impact of Literature Conclave – was brought to life through a series of cultural and literary sessions, including:

  • Shloka recitations by Sachi Sampada, Pranjal Pradhan, and Shriya Mishra, highlighting the deep spiritual and philosophical connection between language and culture.
  • Odia poetry performances by Sonakshi Pradhan and Ashlesha Bhoi showcased the rich literary tradition of Odisha.
  • A special Odia poetry session featuring Snigdharani Hari, Annapurna Nayak, and Kusum Sethi brought the unique flavors of Odia literature to the fore.

The Odia session was expertly designed by Sangita Dash, Rashmi Ranjan Behera, Munu Kumar Bhoi, Sasmita Mohanty, and Namita Pradhan, ensuring that the diverse aspects of Odia literature were well represented.

Throughout the event, the attendees were reminded of the profound impact literature has on shaping society, fostering creativity, and preserving cultural identities. The conclave not only celebrated the richness of language and literature but also provided a platform for students and educators alike to engage in meaningful dialogues on how literature can drive social change.

In closing, the event was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of literature in education, culture, and social development. The participants left the conclave inspired and motivated to continue exploring the world of literature and its far-reaching impact on society.
