Jharsuguda : To inculcate the leadership qualities in student and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a new school council was formed at Ghanshyam Hemlata Vidya Mandir, Jharsuguda along with a Mega Plantation Drive held on Friday.

The chief guest of the function was Ashish Kumar Dubey, Commandant, OSAP, 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda in presence of School governing body secretary P.M. Behera, PTA Secretary Shoubhagya Patel, Trinath Gual and other House mentors.

The function started with the lighting of a lamp. GHVMS Principal Sanjukta Dash had administered an oath to the New Head boy Pratyush Panda and New Head Girl Manisha Jena. Chief Guest appreciated the effort of the School in providing opportunities to the students to shape up their personalities. He also congratulated newly appointed school cabinet members for their preparedness to take up time management and balance them well with academics to excel both.

An Intercourse Dance competition on the theme Misuse of Mobile phone, Anticorruption, Save the mother earth and Incredible India was performed by various students.

A Mega Plantation Drive was organised in the school premises by planting 100 sapling by Class XII students .
