A New Railway Line to Connect Jharsuguda and Barkot in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways has approved conducting the Final Site Survey (FLS) to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new 160-kilometre-long railway line between Jharsuguda and Barkot in Odisha.
The new railway line will connect the industrially rich region of Jharsuguda to Barkot in Deogarh district. With this initiative, Deogarh district will be connected to the railway line for the first time.
The Modi government is giving priority to Odisha in all areas under the Prime Minister’s “Eastern Region” vision. If this railway line becomes operational, it will create a new trend of development in Jharsuguda and Deogarh districts. If the region is properly connected to the railway infrastructure, farmers will benefit and the economy will grow. The development of tourism in Deogarh district will also get a boost.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for taking the necessary steps to build the new railway line.
This is a significant development for the people of Jharsuguda and Deogarh districts. The new railway line will boost the economy of the region and improve connectivity. It will also help promote tourism in Deogarh district.
