Odisha’s Mission Shakti: Enhanced Incentives Empower Community Staff

Bhubaneswar: Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken a significant step to support the community staff associated with Mission Shakti. The government’s decision to increase incentives will directly benefit 59,509 community support staff working under Mission Shakti. During a recent visit by the 5T Chairman to the district, the Community Support Staff seized the opportunity to discuss their incentives and draw attention to their needs.

The enhanced incentives are aimed at empowering women through Mission Shakti. The community support staff includes various roles such as MBKs, CRP-CM, Bank Mitras, Pashu Mitras, Krishi Mitras, and Livelihood Helpers. With this new announcement, all community support staff operating at the gramme panchayat level under Mission Shakti will receive increased incentives. These changes will be applied retrospectively starting in October 2023.

Here are the revised incentive amounts for different categories of community support staff:

MBKs, Bank Mitras, and Livelihood Helpers: Their monthly incentive will increase from Rs 6,750 to Rs 10,750.
Krishi Mitras and Praniva Mitras: They will now receive a total of Rs 6,250 per month, up from Rs 3,750.
CRP-CM: The revised monthly incentive for CRP-CM is Rs 6,100, compared to the previous total of Rs 3,600.

The state government’s commitment to retroactively implement these enhanced incentives demonstrates its dedication to supporting the community staff. Additionally, an additional amount of Rs 96.51 crore has been allocated for this purpose. This move is expected to positively impact women’s empowerment and strengthen Mission Shakti’s initiatives in Odisha.
