Jharsuguda: In a hands-on effort to assess the quality of education and school infrastructure, Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan paid a surprise visit to KG Girls’ High School at Samasingha on Tuesday and even conducted a mathematics class for Class X students.
During the visit, the collector reviewed the academic environment and overall facilities of the school in the presence of District Education Officer Radhakanta Gartia and other education officials. Interacting directly with students, Chavan enquired about their studies, learning challenges and future aspirations. The collector also interacted with 21 students who secured the coveted A1 grade in this year’s matriculation examination. Congratulating them on their achievement, he encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and bring further laurels to the district.
Officials said the interaction was aimed at motivating students and understanding ground-level educational requirements. Chavan expressed hope that the success of the A1 achievers would inspire other students to work harder and improve academic performance.
Reviewing the school’s infrastructure, the collector identified the need for additional facilities and directed the local Block Development Officer (BDO) to take immediate steps for the establishment of a modern science laboratory. He also instructed officials to expedite infrastructure development works within the campus on a priority basis.
