Jharsuguda : A Leopard has been sighted at the dense Pikol Forest in the Belpahar Forest Range of Lakhanpur Block in Jharsuguda District. This was spotted on 14th December in the trap camera set up by the forest department.
Jharsuguda Divisional Forest Officer Manu Ashok Bhat said, “A leopard was spotted on 14th December morning inside the dense Pikol forest in a trap camera set up by the forest department. Habitual leopard movement in the area has been reported in previous years, possibly traveling from the Sundargarh forest division. However, the leopard is not known to enter human habitation. Patrolling has been increased in the nearby village areas to keep track of the leopard.”
