Financial Awareness and Financial Inclusion Program Held at Badmal Gram Panchayat Office, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: A Financial Awareness and Financial Inclusion Program was organized by the District Savings and Financial Services Department at the Badmal Gram Panchayat office. The program commenced with an introduction of the guests by Sumana Panda, the District Financial Services and Savings Officer, who also provided an overview of the event.
The chief guest, District Administrator Shirapani Nayak, explained the harmful effects of investing money in fraudulent companies, particularly Ponzi schemes. Basant Kumar Patel, the Postmaster of the Jharsuguda Main Post Office, highlighted various small savings schemes, including government-backed life insurance and the Atal Pension Scheme, aimed at ensuring financial security for citizens. Harish Sajjanappu, a senior official from the India Post Payments Bank, informed attendees about digital transactions and the associated risks of cybercrime. Mukund Majhi, a financial literacy consultant, provided valuable information regarding Jan Dhan accounts and insurance coverage for accidental death benefits. The program was supported by the Sarpanch and Panchayat Secretary of Badmal Gram Panchayat, as well as the staff from the Financial Services and Savings Department, Hemkant Bag and Jagannath Raut, who contributed to the smooth running of the event.
