Members of District Bar Association Jharsuguda Felicitate Newly Elected Representatives

Jharsuguda : Members of the District Bar Association Jharsuguda on Tuesday felicitated Tankadhar Tripathy, the newly elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Jharsuguda constituency, and Pradeep Purohit, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bargarh parliamentary constituency. The event was marked by the presentation of memorandam outlining various demands to address the needs of the legal community and the general public in the region.

Demands Submitted to Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy

The Bar Association submitted a detailed memorandum to MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, highlighting the following demands:

  1. Regular Functioning of Court: The members demanded the Court of Addl. Joint Commissioner, Settlement & Consolidation, operate as a regular court instead of a camp court at Jharsuguda.
  2. Establishment of JMFC Courts: The association called for the establishment of JMFC courts in Laikera, Kolabira, and Kirmira to facilitate better access to justice.
  3. Creation of New Sub-Division: A request was made for the creation of a new sub-division comprising Kolabira, Kirmira, and Laikera blocks.
  4. Air Conditioning in Judicial Court Building: The memorandum included a demand for two air conditioning units in the waiting hall and two in the Bar hall of the new Judicial Court building.
  5. Improved Road Access: The members requested a direct road approach from the State Highway (SH) to the new Judicial Court building.

Demands Submitted to Bargarh MP Pradeep Purohit

Similarly, the Bar Association presented a memorandum to MP Pradeep Purohit, outlining the following demands:

  1. Post Office Counter: The members requested the establishment of a post office counter in the new Bar building currently under construction.
  2. Nationalised Bank Branch: The association called for the opening of a branch of a nationalized bank in the new Bar building under construction.
  3. Witness Sheds: A demand was made for witness sheds funded by the MP LAD Fund in Kolabira, Kirmira, Laikera, and Lakhanpur Tehsils, along with drinking water freezers.
  4. Library Facility: The association requested a library facility worth ?5,00,000 (Rupees five lakhs only) to be established.
  5. Water Freezer: The memorandum included a demand for a water freezer to be installed in the basement of the new court building for the benefit of litigants and the public.

The members of the District Bar Association expressed optimism that their demands would be met, leading to improved judicial services and facilities for the residents of Jharsuguda and the Bargarh parliamentary constituency.
