JHARSUGUDA: After Sambalpur bandh, People�s Forum for IIM of Jharsuguda had called dawn-to-dusk bandh on Saturday over demand for the establishment of the proposed Indian Institute of Management in Jharsuguda.
Due to Bandh, marketplaces, financial Institutions, courts, educational establishments, state and central government offices remained closed even the Public transport was also off the road. The movements of trains were also hampered; agitators had detained 18477 Puri Haridwar Utkal Express for nearly an hour at Jharsuguda Railway Station.
Except the ruling Party BJD, all parties along with NGO, lawyers and other social and mass organizations took active part in this Bandh.
�We had meet CM regarding this demand and he had told that he would look into the matter but after that it was seen that the five district which was listed in that also Jharsuguda Name was not included which shows CM has neglected Jharsuguda People in that protest this Bandh has been called and the success of the Bandh goes to the people of Jharsuguda.” said Jharsuguda Cong. MLA Naba Kishore Das
�We support the demand for the IIM and we fulfill the criteria too so why IIM can�t be established at Jharsuguda, It should be happened and I personally support it.” said by Jharsuguda BJP Youth President, Bimalendu Bhol
