District Administration, Temple Trust Hold Joint Meeting for Rath Yatra 2026 Preparations

Jharsuguda: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Jharsuguda district administration and the Shri Patitapaban Shrikhetra Jagannath Temple Trust Board on Thursday jointly held a coordination meeting to chalk out preparations for the Rath Yatra 2026, with an emphasis on ensuring the festival is conducted in a peaceful, well-organised and grand manner.
The meeting, chaired by the Sub-Collector at his office, brought together representatives of the temple trust, district administration and key government departments to review logistical arrangements and assign responsibilities ahead of the annual chariot festival.
Officials from the Jharsuguda Block Development Office, Police, Revenue, Fire Services, Health Department, TPWODL, Information and Public Relations Department, Culture Department and SMC Plant attended the meeting.
During the discussion, officials deliberated on crowd management, traffic regulation, public safety, emergency response, healthcare services, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, cultural programmes and overall coordination among departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
The meeting marked the first occasion on which the district administration and the Shri Patitapaban Shrikhetra Jagannath Temple Trust Board jointly held detailed discussions on the planning and management of the Rath Yatra. Participants resolved to work in close coordination to make Rath Yatra 2026 a safe, disciplined and memorable celebration for devotees visiting the temple.
