Awareness Campaign on Gender-Based Violence Concludes on its Second Day in Kapumal, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : An awareness program was organized at the Kapumal-based Parichaya Gruha (Orientation Center) as part of a two-day campaign aimed at raising awareness on gender-based violence and gender discrimination. The program focused on educating participants about the harmful effects of gender bias and inequality.
The event was attended by Anganwadi workers, employees from Shaktisadan, and Sakhi Kendras, who were sensitized about gender-based discrimination. The awareness session was conducted by prominent experts, including Pitabas Behera, District Coordinator of the Child Marriage Prohibition Program, Minakshi Raj, Sub-Divisional Officer of Women and Child Welfare, and other specialists such as Suprabha Pandey and Sita Patel, who provided in-depth training on tackling gender bias.
The program was jointly organized by the District Social Welfare Department and the Sehada Organization. The session aimed to empower local workers and community members, equipping them with the tools to identify and challenge gender-based discrimination within their communities.
This initiative is part of a larger ongoing effort to combat violence and inequality based on gender, raising awareness and promoting equal rights for all.
