Plantation Drive in Jharsuguda to Mark ICAO’s 80th Anniversary
Jharsuguda : As part of a nationwide initiative to plant 80,000 saplings across India, a plantation drive was held on Monday at Jharsuguda Airport. The drive was organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in connection with the upcoming 2nd Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference, scheduled for 11-12 September 2024 at New Delhi.
The event saw participation from key dignitaries, including Tankadhar Tripathy, MLA of Jharsuguda, Sandeep Kumar Tiwari, Airport Director, and senior officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), various airlines, and the Airport Services Provider Union (APSU). Saplings were planted as part of the larger mission to plant 2,000 trees in the Jharsuguda region, aligning with the ICAO�s global environmental goals.
During the event, MLA Tankadhar Tripathy emphasized the importance of green initiatives and the role of aviation in driving sustainability. Airport Director Sandeep Kumar Tiwari highlighted the significant contribution of the aviation sector to environmental conservation through such large-scale plantation programs.
