Jharsuguda Shines at 13th Odisha State Shooting Championship

Jharsuguda, July 29, 2024: The 13th Odisha State Shooting Championship, held from July 25th to July 28th at the Utkal Karate School Shooting Range and Kalinga Stadium Shooting Range in Bhubaneswar, saw remarkable performances from participants across the state. Organized by the Utkal Rifle Association, the event witnessed fierce competition among shooters representing various districts.

Jharsugudaïż½s Atish Kumar Naik made a significant mark in the Senior Category 50m Rifle Prone Men, securing a silver medal with his outstanding performance. His achievement brought pride to the district and highlighted the growing talent in the region.

In another commendable performance, P. Ramesh from Jharsuguda clinched the bronze medal in the Senior Category 10m Pistol Men. His precision and skill were evident as he competed against some of the best shooters in the state.

While Jharsuguda celebrated these victories, another participant from the district, Gourang Charan Pradhan from Belpahar, competed in the 50m Open Sight Rifle Prone. Despite a valiant effort, Pradhan did not secure a winning position. His participation, however, demonstrated the spirit and dedication of Jharsugudaïż½s shooting enthusiasts.

The championship showcased the talents of many participants from various districts, contributing to the overall success and competitive spirit of the event. The Utkal Rifle Association’s organization ensured a platform for shooters to exhibit their skills and foster a sense of camaraderie among the athletes.
