OTET-Eligible Mass Teachers to Receive Regularisation and Salary Hike

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, the Odisha state government has raised the remuneration for mass teachers who have not passed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET). Their monthly salary has been increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000. Additionally, mass teachers who have successfully cleared the OTET will now be regularised.

Furthermore, the state government has taken steps to regularise MEd teachers. Assistant teachers who have also met the OTET criteria will receive annual increments. This decision is expected to benefit a total of 12,113 mass teachers across the state.

The mass teachers had been persistently protesting for months, demanding higher salaries and addressing various grievances. Their efforts have finally borne fruit, as the state government has acted before the upcoming elections to enhance the financial well-being of these educators.
