Jharsuguda: The district has reached a noteworthy landmark by emerging as the pioneer in the state to electrify all its Anganwadi centers. This feat has been made attainable through a blend of government subsidies, district mineral fund investments, and the unwavering dedication of diverse stakeholders.
A total of 807 Anganwadi centres throughout the district have been furnished with fans and electricity connections. The venture was sponsored by a government subsidy of ₹39.50 crore, bolstered by ₹1.75 crore from the district mineral fund. An additional ₹37.34 lakh was allotted for internal wiring and high extension connections.
Electricity metres have been enlisted in the names of the respective Anganwadi centre workers. The pending work on Anganwadi centres that is still in progress is projected to be finalised by the end of November.
The prosperous realisation of this project is credited to the meticulous supervision of the Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of the District Council, in conjunction with the backing of Group Development Officers, Tata Power authorities, District Social Welfare Officers, and Child Development Project Officers. The District Collector has expressed his contentment with this accomplishment.
The electrification of Anganwadi centres will not only enrich the learning milieu for children but also contribute to the comprehensive well-being of the community. It is a testament to the district administration’s pledge to provide essential infrastructure and services to its inhabitants.
