5 died and 9 injured in a Tata Magic & Truck Accident
Jharsuguda : In a tragic accident, 5 people died while 9 people were injured after a truck hit their Tata Magic passenger vehicle on Sunday morning at Junian Chowk in Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda district.
Police officials identified the deceased as Bhubaneswar Bhainsal (71), Urmila Rout (50), and Kalpana Meher (26) residents of Kandadihi under Machida Gram Panchayat, Uma Padhan (50) of Rengali and Thandaram Satnami (55) of Jharupada under Lakhanpur Block
While the injured were identified as Shyamadhana Seth (45) of Palsada Village and Ranjan Meher (22) of Kandadidhi, Ananda Bhoi (67) of Therba, Jogendra Khadia (20) of Bansenpali, Baikuntha Khamari (48) of Baddara village, Rupa Mirdha (65) of Jamkani, Chandrabati Gardia (28) of Sagarpali, Sabita Bag (24) and her 2 and half year old minor child , resident of Khaiabahal under Lakhanpur Block.
As per the report, a Tata Magic Passenger vehicle (OD 15B 1727) which was carrying passengers from Panchgaon and was going towards Belpahar, and at in between 9:00 – 9:30 am, a coal-laden Trailor (OD 23N 3156) coming from opposite side had hit the passenger vehicle resulting in the death of 5 people while 9 people sustaining seriously injured. The residents of the nearby area rushed for help and were shifted to the Lakhanpur Community Health Centre (CHC) and later they were shifted to Jharsuguda Dist. Headquarter Hospital.
