Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda Town Police on Saturday arrested two persons and seized 20.5 gm brown sugar worth 4 Lakhs from their procession.
The police identified the accused as Md. Muntaju Khan (24) , a resident of Mangal Bazar and one Ersad Khan (20) , resident of Gopabandhupali, near plant side, Rourkela, District Sundargarh.
As per sources , Jharsuguda Police on receiving credible information from reliable sources , regarding two person transporting illegal contraband i.e. Brown Sugar and are moving in Jhadeswar Temple and purunabasti area in order to sell that substance. They were moving on a KTM Bike bearing registration number OD15F4506. The information was shared with Jharsuguda SP and under his direction a team was formed to nab them. The Police team immediately rushed there and searched for them . subsequently nabbed the culprits on the main road near Jhadeswar Temple who were moving in the said bike and detected contraband Brown sungar from their possession. The contraband articles were seized in presence of executive magistrate witness as per NDPS act. The culprits who were transporting the brown sugar were also apprehended and the brown sugar as well as the above motorcycle and two numbers of Mobile phone has been seized.
