Bhubaneswar: The School and Public Education Department has issued a statutory notification stating that morning school will resume in the state from tomorrow. The academic year for 2023-24 commenced on April 3, with enrollment for classes 3-8 scheduled during this time.
On Monday, before noon, eight locations in Odisha recorded temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius or higher. The hottest places were Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda, both with a temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius.
Classes 1-12 in both government and private schools will operate from 7:00 am to 11:30 am. District administrators have been granted the authority to adjust the school timetable based on local conditions during the summer. The School and Public Education Department has published a notification and instructed district administrators accordingly.
In light of the season, school authorities are expected to take precautions to ensure clean drinking water and other facilities are available for students. The directive permits district administrations to further adjust the school schedule if necessary, based on the weather conditions.
