Coronavirus: District administration levy fines as people flout mask and social distance norms

Jharsuguda : Jharsuguda District administration has been imposing fines as local residents flout COVID guidelines in the district. The administration is worried, as people are not observing social distance and are not wearing masks in the busy areas.

Jharsuguda District Administration has requested people to comply with the lockdown strictly, by which people can be safe and secure. In addition, shops have been again asked to maintain social distancing, but few shops have been found to be violating it and had to pay fines.

Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police, Jharsuguda Sub Collector and Executive Magistrate are visiting various areas to check if people are following the guidelines of the government to avoid this epidemic. But, some individuals have been found violating the Lockdown norms therefore, the District Administration has formed 11 squads and action is being taken against the accused.

Meanwhile, three Squads have been patrolling the busy areas like District Court, Collectorate, LIC office, SBI main branch and other Government office premises to ensure, no-one is violating COVID-19 guidelines.

Jharsuguda Sub Collector Shiba Toppo, said that “The administration is spreading awareness about the need of social distancing and use of mask against the pandemic situation, the Administration insisting people to follow the COVID-19 guidelines.”
