Jharsuguda’s Vidhi Dubey delivers speech in Parliament on Ekta Diwas
Jharsuguda : In a Proud moment, Jharsuguda’s Vidhi Dubey, a Class VIII Student of a school, delivered a speech in Parliament House on the eve of Ekta Diwas on Monday.
Her speech was part of the celebrations of the Ekta Diwas at the Parliament, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. She was one among 26 school students who were selected to take part in this event and also the only student from Odisha.
This Celebration was organized under the Ministry of Education (Department of School Education & Literacy, Department of Higher Education) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Department of Youth Affairs), Government of India in coordination with Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Earlier in the month of January, she was also among top 25 students selected across country under the Central Government Veer Gath Project and was honoured in Delhi on the eve of Republic Day for writing a poem on Captain Vikram Batra.
“When I participated in Veergatha, I never thought that I would be one of the Super 25 kids across the country. But when the result came and I saw my name among those 25 children, it was a unique moment for me. But my journey does not end here. Exactly 2 months after that when I came to know that I had been called to Parliament and I am being given the opportunity to give a speech in the central hall of the parliament on Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This moment is the memorable moment of my life and I want to give credit to my parents and my school because without their support all this might not have been possible.” Said Vidhi Dubey, studying at class VIII of St. Arnold Convent School, Jharsuguda
“The journey is quite promising since childhood. Her participation from small school competitions to heroism was very interesting. She participated in every small and big competitions and made his place. It was a very proud moment for us when we saw her name among 25 children selected from across the country. she has brought laurels not only to our family but also to her school and to the whole of Odisha. Going to Parliament and giving speeches standing in the dice is a very proud moment in itself. we are really proud of her.” Said Smt. Rajni Dubey, mother of Vidhi Dubey
