Vedanta Aluminium organizes blood donation camp at its Jharsuguda operations
Jharsuguda : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, organized a voluntary blood donation camp at its Aluminium Smelter operations in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to support local blood banks. Employees, families and business partners joined in the blood donation camp, and around 210 units of blood were donated to the Red Cross Blood Bank at Burla and Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank at Jharsuguda. In FY22, Vedanta Aluminium contributed more than 340 units of blood to support local blood banks in and around Jharsuguda through employee volunteerism.
Speaking about Vedanta Jharsuguda’s blood donation drive, Sunil Gupta, CEO – Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, said, “Blood donation is a noble cause that goes on to save many lives and we are glad to play our part in this endeavour. It heartens us to see our employees, business partners, and their families come forward to help our local blood banks in providing timely and effective care to the needy. Vedanta Jharsuguda provides a wide spectrum of basic and specialized health services in and near its areas of operations in Jharsuguda, including an upcoming advanced state-of-the-art multispecialty facility – the Vedanta Pathology Lab & Diagnostic Centre, which shall offer over 500 tests and specialized services like Radiology, Mammography, ECG/PFT/TMT, Vision, Digital X-Ray, Audiometry, among others. The company operates Mobile Health Units in its areas of operation, providing basic healthcare services to more than 55,000 people annually, across 28 remote villages. Vedanta Aluminium also organizes various health camps for local communities in and around Jharsuguda. The blood donation camp was organised in association with Sambad Media House and the blood banks of Burla and Jharsuguda.
