Eco-Park ‘Utkal Upvan’ To Come Up In Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Hon’ble Union Home Minister Amit Shah today laid the foundation stone of Utkal Upvan, an Eco-Park to be developed at an excavated portion of Lilari OCP in Lakhanpur Area of�Mahanadi Coalfields Limited�in Jharsuguda district of�#Odisha

The foundation stone, as a part of�#VriksharopanAbhiyan2020�on the occasion of�#VanMahotsava�celebrations, was unveiled through video conferencing by Shah is the presence of Hon’ble Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi and AK Jain, IAS, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Coal at New Delhi, while Hon’ble Member of Parliament (LS) Suresh Pujari was distinguished guest present at the Lilari OCP site in Lakhanpur Area.

Located at about 30-minute ride from Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, in western Odisha, this eco-park will have walking and cycling trails; Children’s Park; Toy Train; Mine Museum; Adventure activities; (like boating, skating, climbing, archery); Botanical Garden, Orchard, Eatery Junction, Auditorium, and Luxury cottages on rent.

This sustainable eco-park, near a nine-hole Golf Course and Koilighughar Waterfall, will also generate tourism-driven self-employment opportunities for local people.

CMD BN Shukla along with KR Vasudevan, Director (Finance), Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel) and Baban Singh witnessed the event from headquarters and also participated in the plantation drive.
