Two girls injured after they jumped from a running train
Jharsuguda : In an unfortunate incident, two girls were severely injured, when they jump from a running train near Bagedihi Railway Station on Monday morning. They had boarded the train from Bamra and had expected that the train will stop at Bagedihi so that they could visit Mahakal Temple, situated at Bagedihi.
Both girls were identified as Dhanmati Majhi (17) and Joytsana Naik (18) both were a resident of Gailjhumpa Village near Dharuadihi under Sundargarh District.
As reported, Both girls who were friends had come out of the home on Monday morning to visit Mahakal Temple at Bagedihi. They boarded the Train No. 18477 ïż½Puri ïż½ Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express from Bamra Railway station without knowledge that the train does not have any stoppage at Bagedihi Railway Station when the train reached near Bagedihi railway station, they jumped from the running train in which they both were seriously injured. After the train crossed, local passengers had seen them lying on the railway tracks and later rescued them and informed the Bagedihi Station Manager, who later shifted them to Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital.
“After the passing of Utkal Express at 10.54 a.m., one of the public informed that some two girls are lying injured on the track. I immediately reached the spot and informed 108 Ambulance and with the help of the local public, we shifted them Jharsuguda District Headquarter Hospital for treatment. One Dhanmati Majhi received a severe cut on a leg while Joytsana Naik received a head injury. Both of them have been shifted to VIMSAR Burla.” said R.k.
