Dog Show Organised at Jharsuguda

JHARSUGUDA:  It was a dog’s day in the Industrial town on Sunday evening as around 75 dogs of as many as 25 different breeds wagged their tails in the 3rd Kennel Club dog show which was organized by Kennel Club Jharsuguda.

Several participants reached from places like Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Brajrajnagar along with their dogs. The event was packed with audience, especially youngsters, who came to see this show, held at Indoor Sports Complex , Mangal Bazaar

Prizes were given to top best dogs of all varieties, including a German shepherd, Doberman, Great Dane, Pug, Saint Bernard, English Mastiff, American Bully, English Pointer, Pomeranian, Beagle, Labrador,Siberian Husky, Spitz, Rottweiler etc.

A Pug owned by one Dilip Mohanty of Sambalpur was the champion of show in Best in Show Competition.

 “This is the third time we have organized this event. Our main aim is to create awareness among the pet lovers with a message that any pets should not be treated as animal but it should be treated as a member of a family.” said Kajal Guha, President Kennel Club, Jharsuguda 

Pradeep Ghosh and Noel Gilbert who had come from Kolkata to judge the dogs, were very pleased by the show organised at Jharsuguda and were willing to come back again to judge at Jharsuguda if they were called.
