CM inaugurates 108 Emergency Ambulance Services in Jharsuguda District

Jharsuguda :  Indulging in a spree of inaugurations ahead of notification for 2014 election, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the ‘Dial 108 Emergency Service’ under the Odisha Emergency Medical Ambulance Service (OEMAS) along with laying of foundation stones for various projects at Belpahar on Sunday.

CM flagged off six emergency ambulance services and laid foundation stones for various projects like Ambabona Bridge over river Mahanadi Project, Improvement of Road, Railway Over Bridge, Installation of 33/11 K.V. Sub Station and Piped Water supply project at Belpahar.

Officials said, emergency ambulance will be available round the clock and patients can avail the service by dialing the toll free number 108. The service will available with an average response time of 20, 25, 35 minutes for urban, semi-urban and rural areas.

Earlier to this function, CM Naveen Patnaik had visited Orissa Power Generation Corporation first, where he laid the foundation stone for the third and fourth unit with a capacity of 660 MW x 2 of OPGC at Banharpali. In this function Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Minister of State (Ind. Charge), Energy and I&PR and AES COO, Andrew Vessey were also present.

This laying of foundation stone of 3rd and 4th Unit of OPGC was done for the second time by the CM Naveen Patnaik, at first; CM himself had laid the foundation stone on 23rd August, 2004 for the 250 MW x 2.

While addressing to public meeting held at Belpahar’s  Khariapada, CM Naveen Patnaik said that that BJD’s one point main aim is, progress and welfare for the people of Odisha. He blasted against the UPA led Central Govt. for denying the special category status for the Odisha and had questioned on the criteria on which the Andhra Pradesh state had been provided the special category status.

He also spoke against the BJP party and said that, BJP’s current leadership is trying to create differences among the various section of communities due to which the country cannot make progress.
