State Energy Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Sahoo visit Jharsuguda holds review meeting with Officials
Jharsuguda : Yesterday evening Hon�ble�Minister�of State (Ind. Charge ) Department of Energy along with Commissioner cum secretary of Dept. Of Energy Mr. P.K. Jena had visited Jharsuguda and reviewed & assessed the status of various schemes of the government.
�This three hours meeting took place at Jharsuguda DRDA Hall with officials present from all the�Indus trials�house like NTPC , WESCO , OPGC� & VEDANTA , INBAHART along with District Collector Bishnu Prasad Sahoo , ADM Rabindra Mishra , PD , DRDA , Sarat Mishra , Jharsuguda S.P. K.S. Kanwar along with other officials.
Minister Arun Sahoo had assessed the current status of all the energy schemes like Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana , Biju Gram Jyoti� etc �in Jharsuguda District.
In Jharsuguda district a total 32830 BPL families are residing among which till now only 20,203 families have got the power and remaining have been still left out. But according to Mr. Arun Sahoo 12718 BPL families have been left out under RGVY Scheme and only the line has been installed but the installed lines are still to be charged.
Mr. Sahoo has given electric department a deadline of Jan 2013 to finish of all the pending works of the left out villages and BPL. Adding he warned that if it is not been done then strict criminal proceedings would be taken against officers.
�In this Meeting, Mr. Sahoo had asked various questioned but the local power officials were looked in a confused state and were not able to answer his question which seems that WESCO officials were not fully prepared for this meeting.
Villagers of Uniskhand Mauja have been demanding for a 33KV transformers because of Low voltage problem. The present scenario of this village is that only 90V instead of 220V power is been received by the consumer. In this regard even Mr. Shoo have added that some of the villagers of this village have gheraoed him. He has directed the department to quickly solve the problem ASAP.
Currently a total of 3600 MW power is being produced but the homes of people in the district are still in dark.
He also had shown concern about the theft of transformers where in past records say that there were 12 transformers which were stolen in the district but the case has not been registered in the police station.
Additionally he also pointed out loss incurring due to loss in T&D which amounts to 65%. He has directed all his Energy Police Inspector to act and register cases against the culprits. He has asked WESCO to provide technical assistance to energy police. He has also mentioned that the Government and Department would take stern action against the people involved in theft of power.
Talking to the Various Industry houses in the district, He has directed Vedanta to submit all types of action plan and measures for the Ash Management in his company within seven days time frame.
