Odisha sizzles as temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius; Jharsuguda records highest temperature

Bhubaneswar: As per the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, the temperature has been rising in the state of Odisha. On Monday, the temperature reached a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius across the state. The city of Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature of 40 degrees Celsius before sunset. The same temperature was also recorded in the city of Baripada.

Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, recorded a temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius,  Other cities such as Chandbali, Angul, and Sambalpur also recorded a temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore, cities like Boudh, Malkangiri, Titalgarh, Sonepur, Cuttack, Sundergarh, and Jagatsinghpur recorded temperatures ranging from 39.5 to 39 degrees Celsius.

The rise in temperature is not unusual in Odisha during the summer season. However, such high temperatures can cause heat-related health problems in people, particularly those who work outdoors or are exposed to the sun for extended periods.

It is important to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to the sun during the hottest parts of the day. People should also wear loose, comfortable clothing and use sunscreen to protect themselves from the harmful effects of the sun’s rays.
