Jharsuguda : Giving stress on the importance of saving electricity and energy efficiency, Vedanta Limited Jharsuguda flagged off the Energy conservation Week which began from 8th December 2016 to 14th December 2016.
The campaign which totally focussed on spreading and promoting awareness about energy efficiency covered the locality through various neighbourhood schools. The campaign covered schools like Government High School Sarbahal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Saraswati Sisu Vidyamandir and other schools of the periphery. The message was spread through trainings and awareness sessions on Energy conservation by professionals from Energy Cell, Vedanta Limited Jharsuguda. Also, inorder to make the campaign more effective activities like painting competition and debate were conducted in schools. The drive was carried successfully forward through various awareness activities covering the employees, township residents and schools in the vicinity.
The campaign flagged off on 14th December 2016 with an Energy Conservation Rally, from CPP to Potline in which 500 employees from various domains participated and later took a pledge on Energy Conservation. The campaign officially concluded with a closing ceremony at Multi-Purpose Hall, Vedanta Meadows. Present on the occasion were Mr. Anil Kumar Singh, COO-Power, Vedanta Limited Jharsuguda and Mr. G.G Pal, Head Smelter 1, also senior officials, employees and teachers and students from neighbouring schools. A video on Energy conservation was screened on the occasion, also awards were given to the winners of various competitions held throughout the week. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anil Kumar Singh highlighted ‘Energy Conservation’ as the need of the hour which has to be given utmost importance. –
